One of the first steps toward discredeiting the gospel of Jesus Christ is to doubt the authority of Scripture. It is not a burden to explain to non-belivers but a gift of God's grace that he gives us. When it comes to determining what is the truth of the Christian faith, our conscious is held captive by the Word of God alone. Where other institutions may or have the ability to get "it" wrong, the word of God is the same truth yesterday, today and forever.
